The Living Lab is a project designed to engage students in the process of scientific investigation, and merge the hands-on classroom activities with the online interactive features to supplement and enhance the learning. The key objectives of this project are to provide students with a theoretical knowledge on plant functions and the role for the ecosystem that matches their curriculum requirements, while learning and taking part in the experiment and participating in online communication and knowledge sharing.
Project Details
Throughout the 4 week experiment, the students from Vanier Module (Kingston) will learn how different growing conditions, mediums and light exposure affects plant growth, engage in thoughtful discussions, read articles and post their results online for others to learn from. Working in the groups, the students will go through all of the steps of experiment initiation and planing, make hypothesis about their growing chambers, make observations and record findings.
