I was born/grew up in: Limoges, France

I now live in: Montreal, QC, Canada

I completed my training/education at: Eng. school (Applied Math) in France, M.Sc.A Polytechnique Montreal, MBA in Montreal

Describe what you do at work.

Today I am a facilitator. I make sure researchers and developers have everything they need to make progresses in their respective projects.

How does your job affect people’s lives?

Computer vision can be positively contributing to solving problems societies are facing. For example, computer vision systems are used into automatic sorting machines of wastes to improve efficiency of recycling process.

What motivates you in your career?

Working everyday with a group of brilliant problem solving oriented people.

When I was a student, I would have described myself as someone who:

Describe your career path to this career.

I was very manual, always building things with my hands, including electronic circuits. I was very visual and manual, and my studies were naturally oriented towards mechanical engineering. But at some point, I met with computer vision, and it gave me exactly this compromise between math, and building things from my hands (programming algorithms), and almost immediate and visual results.

What activities do you like to do outside of work?

I practice and teach Judo.

What advice or encouragement would you give others seeking a similar career?

Explore and experiment.
