I examine geologic information to understand oil and gas reservoirs. To do this I use seismic data, well logs, and core samples. I use this information to estimate how much oil and gas is in the reservoir. I then create 3-dimensional models of the subsurface. These models are used to determine where to drill and how to best produce the hydrocarbon reserves.

My main job is to evaluate data that are collected in wellbores drilled deep into subsurface oil fields. This data provides information to help us understand the distribution of hydrocarbons deep underground. It also tells us the amount of hydrocarbons present and helps in planning where future wells will be drilled.
