While my job as Chair is more about running a team (i.e., the Department) to be as competitive as possible, my Professor job is about research and education. Much of my time is spent doing basic science (non-human) research into cardiovascular disease, how it develops and how we can fix it. This research takes multiple forms and requires me to bring in a lot of different areas of science. I also teach undergraduate and graduate students at Western about the cardiovascular system.

I oversee two departments. The first is Compliance. This department deals with complaints against non-members and non-permit holder companies that misuse title, represent as able to do engineering/geoscience work or practice without a license. The discipine department helps the Discipline Committee to adjucate on unprofessional conduct or unskilled practice complaints against members and permit holder companies.
